Recently I’ve had the opportunity to photograph a couple first year birthday parties and I have to say, I LOVED it! I’m not sure if it’s just because I was working with two very laid back mommas or because the parties were so fabulous or because I know how much it meant to me to have a friend taking pictures during Steff’s first birthday. No matter what, I loved every bit of it. This was something I had considered doing for a while, but just wasn’t sure how I would like it. Well, I most definitely love it.
I mean…who wouldn’t love photographing all these sweet little details, the joy on everyones faces, the bittersweet feeling the parents feel as their baby turns one, and the love that surrounds one little tiny person. I’ve worked with this sweet little family several times and am always so impressed by how together they are, how real they are, how they are constantly showing their love, and just simply how thoughtful and kind they are. Sweet Wells and Carys are both so happy, but with completely different personalities. I can’t believe how fast these littles are growing. Now, I not only get to be slightly sad over my own growing up, but also all the babies I photograph. Anyone ever hear that time goes by too fast?
Back to the details…I’m completely blown away by how talented this momma is, not to mention her friends who had a part in the planning. The sugar cookies, she did all on her own (does anyone remember my failures of cake decorating with Steff’s birthday), the smash cake…all her, the animal cookies…she made (!!!), she did most all of the artwork, the hats…the list goes on.
