Well, this just simply makes my heart happy. You may remember this family from a few posts ago. I was beyond thrilled when they said they were interested in the new “Day in the Life” sessions. I had planned on offering these way back when, but decided to hold off until some other things were perfected. When I just recently started offering these types of sessions and Birth Photography, I have to admit, I was nervous. Such a big change, especially since I won’t be doing weddings next year.
To be honest, I had thought of a million different things we could do with Day in the Life sessions, but never once thought about doing them with a newborn. Oh it was perfect. Such a great time to capture. When is your life going to be like this again? Plus, everyone was home. PERFECT. So many times during the day I just took a deep breath, a breath of thankfulness. Thankful that I had started offering this, thankful for such wonderful new friends who allow me into their home and opened their hearts, thankful that I get to spend the day with this happy family that truly cherish each moment they have together. THIS is the essence of everything I want to offer. I want to capture what’s real. I want to capture the beauty that you may not see every day, but that you live every day.
We started with bath time…
Once dressed, we made sure to grab all the necessities for a bike ride…
Then some lunch (don’t worry…there was more than this for lunch, but I just thought I would make you all jealous because I have a job where I get chocolate chip cookies…)
And some hanging out and newborny pictures. I love how he falls asleep on their shoulders like this.
Last, but certainly not least, we got to enjoy a peek into Daddy’s date night and then the whole family snuggling on the couch watching movies. I wanted to just crawl into the recliner and get lost in Johnny Depp’s eyes Pirates’s of the Caribbean. I could feel the peace and coziness cover the room. I truly felt like a part of the family 🙂
