Everyone knows that photography is my scream to the top of my lungs, jump up with joy, butterflies in my stomach, giddy with excitement, passion (of course, aside from Bret, friends/family, and God). I still owe you a blog discussing the many reasons I love photography. It’s still on my list of things to blog about. One of the wonderful things about photography that most wouldn’t even think about, is the connection you can make with other photographers across the country.  With this, I have met and made so many wonderful friends. A few years ago when I *first* became interested in photography and seeing it as a possibility to release some creativity, I met (through the lovely world of Myspace) someone who changed my outlook on photography and has since became a long time friend. Amy told me that you didn’t have to have a bunch of lights and a studio to be a photographer. After that, everything just exploded. She said she learned everything from her sister, who lived in FL. Then enters Stacey. The funny thing is that we all went to the same high school for a while. We have many of the same friends. Amy and I live 2 hours from each other (if that) and hadn’t met until this summer…in FL! lol. Stacey and I got to meet last year while we were there to visit. She lives in the same area we go on vacation. We always have a blast. She takes our picture…I chase the kiddos and take their pictures…Bret hams it up for the camera. I was so excited this year when we were able to work it out to be there Amy’s last night (and birthday!). Now…I just can’t wait for little Chum Chum to get here so we get to meet him! I swear, it truly seems like we’ve known each other forever. Even Bret said it seemed like we were all old friends. He loved meeting Amy and Stacey’s other halves and beautiful children. I just absolutely can’t wait to see you all again and give big hugs.
Here are some of my favorites from the evening with Stacey…

Did I mention the yummy light? And her beautiful kiddos? Mr. P and Bret were instant friends. He loves how intelligent and competitive P already is.  I’m pretty sure that P loves how Bret’s a big kid and very competitive himself.

Beautiful Miss L. I can hear her now “I do it myself.” So independent. She kept right up with P and insisted she could do anything he could.

Look at those curls!

“Hold you…” Loved the relationship between Stacey and L. She and Amy are both such wonderful mothers. So laid back and so loving.

Here’s the wonderful picture we got of the three of us. Hopefully we’ll get to see each other soon and get a much better picture 🙂 Look how gorgeous they are! Oh you should see the maternity pictures Stacey did of Amy. OH MY GOODNESS! Amazing! I am very lucky to be friends with such talented ladies.

PS…look how dark my hair is!

Peace and so much love,

Cilla

  1. Stacy says:

LOVE these hun all of them the sun is YUMMY

  2. angie says:

such gorgeous and moving images – you have captured sweet stacey and her darlings so well!

  3. stacey woods says:

Honestly, Cilla. I’m sitting here in tears just looking at my sweet babies and the way you’ve captured their laughter and their raspberry-blowing faces. You have such incredible talent and the most unique perspective, and a very special way of capturing the light behind ~ and within ~ my children. I love you and Bret to pieces and I’m so thankful we finally got to meet after all these years. In Florida of all places! (Go Dawgs! lol!) Thank you for being so amazing, and for sharing your talent with me. I’m forever grateful, and we can’t wait until next summer! xoxoxox

  4. Amy Parsons says:

Oh Priscilla, how I love you! You are so sweet and I love the image of us all 3 together. We also felt like we’d known you for years. The girls talked about you when we left and I just can’t wait for you to meet our little boy once he gets here. Make sure to bring Bret!!

  5. Donna Riley says:

Hey there! I love your photos! There so beautiful!!

  6. Wow. You are both so very talented and I think these images ROCK, C!

  7. Andrea C. says:

Wow! Those are some beautiful children! You obviously had a great time. So happy for you 🙂
I know what you mean about meeting other creative people. Usually they are your biggest supporters even though outwardly they could be considered direct competition. Isn’t it lovely to find other happy, creative people?

  8. Noni says:

Beautiful images and post! I am new to photography (not new to adoring the art, though) and feel quite alone. It is wonderful that you are surrounded by encouraging friends!

  9. Stacey Woods says:

I’m coming back to look at these beautiful images of my darlings, almost two years later. And the sweet words you said about my kiddos is still so true. Parker is still competitive, and is now playing soccer. And intelligent, well now he attends a gifted school. He looks so little back then, so innocent and sweet. He looks much the same now, only taller and even lankier, and he’s missing his two front teeth. 😉 And Miss Sassypants Lila, with her thoughtful eyes and mischievous bottom lip… The perfect (and first) word I’d use to describe that girl is definitely: independent. You hit the nail on the head. She still has her curls, and in fact, she wants to grow her hair “down to the grass.” So funny to think back and marvel at how you could see that two years ago, and how those characteristics still so clearly describe my babies today. I cannot wait to see y’all this summer, and finally meet that sweet boy whom I last saw in your tummy! Big hugs to you tonight, friend. Miss you to pieces. xox
