2019 sessions and once a year savings | central KY family lifestyle photographer

Hi, friends! So, how is your holiday season going so far? Oh how I wish I could see each of you and give you a big warm hug and a candy cane. Let’s pretend that’s happening, shall we? Y’all this year has just flown by and, guess what, Priscilla Baierlein Photography has moved right into our 10th year (on October 25th to be exact :))! How can that be? Most of that time I’ve spent as a momma trying to figure her way around all the things and you have given me so much beautiful grace. I am eternally grateful. Because of that grace I continue to do what I love and show you your love. All through next year we will be celebrating our 10th year together with lots of fun little celebrations and maybe a give away or two ;) For now, let’s start with our once a year session savings and 2019 calendar! Here are a few things that are going on (Those subscribed to the love filled mailing list have had the details for about a week and in fact this was suppose to end Monday! Whoops…looks like we will extend it until next Monday! Yay!).

Y'all, I'm so excited. It is simplified. It is all inclusive. It allows you to pay "as you go" (deposit and two other payments split between the session and when the gallery is ready) and upgrade at any time. I am able to edit more images and not worry so much about doing so. It gives you choices (built around the collections we have had for most of our days). And it makes me oh so happy to know you automatically will walk away with some form of prints in addition to our prized high resolution digital image files.

Simply click HERE to view the new and improved pricing (and see lots of lovely pictures too)!

Remember, as long as you have love, you have everything you need for a session. Don't wait for everything to be lose those last ten pounds (or the first)...the landscaping to be finished...the braces to be off...the kids to not be little crazy crazies...the house to be tidy...I promise, none of those things will matter when you look at these...or more importantly, your kiddos look at these, in 20 years.

There has been something extra special about the work we have created together this year. It’s been some of my most favorite work yet. I will leave you will leave you with a handful of my absolute favorites from the last few months. I have so so many more to share!

I love you all so dearly. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for choosing me.

So much love,

how to find your family photographer

It’s officially fall. Also known to photographers as the busiest time of year. I would love to be everyone’s chosen photographer, but, as I believe photographer Jenna Kutcher said, I can’t please everyone, I am not Nutella. I believe having a successful session is about so much more than a skilled photographer. They have to be YOUR photographer. The perfect match. If not, there’s a chance you won’t be satisfied with the outcome. No one wants that to happen. I want you to find your photographer. Bonus points if that does end up being me ;)

Here are my “big three” questions to finding your perfect photographer match…

Do I like the photographer’s style of photography?

This is a big one. You want someone who’s work already matches what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for something specific, do not choose any photographer and then ask them to recreate what you’re looking for. Chances are they may not be able to and they may not have as much passion behind it as they do their typical style. If you’re wanting a studio look, go with a studio photographer. If you’re wanting to capture everyone playing, find the photographer who most reflects that in their work. You want to be fancy, find someone who shows that off on their website. My style of photography is generally referred to as “lifestyle”. My focus is on connection and how your family loves at this stage in life. There aren’t a lot of images of everyone looking at the camera (although we do try to get one or two) and I am not super posey. The outcome is warm, love and connection filled images that show who your family is, not just what each person looked like at this age. There is a place for all different types of photography, you just have to decide what you like best for this time in your life.

Do I feel a connection to the photographer?

This one may not be as obvious, but it is SO important. You’ll notice I try to put my personality out there as much as I can. This is because I know whatever I put out there will attract or repel. I’d rather attract all the people, but, again, I’m not Nutella. So, instead, I know it’s going to attract the people who connect with me best. Those are also going to be the people I create the best work with because they’re more comfortable with me. You can connect with a photographer through their work, their “about me” on their website, the way they talk about photography, or even the light they put out into the world. Having a connection can have a great affect on the final images.

Are they worth it?

Photography is an investment. If someone charges $200, but their work is not up to your standards and you don’t like the final outcome, then you’ve wasted $200. If someone charges $1200 and they meet the above questions and quality is on point, then you’ve made a $1200 investment that will last generations. If you love someone’s work that charges more than you have budgetted and you feel they are worth it, see if there’s a smaller session you can do or if they take payments. Or go to the photographer every other year or every few years.

As for how you come across your photographer? The best place is always going to be that one trusted friend that values the same as you do. I don’t value fancy cars, so I’m not the one to ask about what car to buy. But I do value good photography, so I am a good friend to ask for a photographer. I also value a good pair of jeans, so you can ask me about that too. Other places to run across your photographer can be google, instagram, Pinterest. I don’t know if I suggest asking on facebook groups. Everyone values something different.

Bottom line, fine the photographer you love. I hope these big three help in your search. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. You and your photographer will be partners in creating your beautiful art.

So much love,

you know what I love about you | Georgetown ky family lifestyle photographer

We hiked to a clearing behind their house and found the perfect spot for lighting on this cloudy day…the first day of fall. They snuggled and laughed and snuggled some more. I watched as their hands found another’s. I gasped as I saw siblings holding hands without a prompt. The joy was thick. The love and pride they felt for each other was nearly tangible. She showed off her acting skills and he made sure we saw just how fast he could run. Then came my favorite part. Momma had each person answer questions about each member of their family. They took turns reading what every one had said about the others. They talked about what they loved most about each other and what makes them laugh and what made them feel loved and what they most loved to do with that person. My heart melted. They each lit up as they heard how loved they were. They each giggled when hearing how they make others laugh. This is what love looks like out loud. You could see it all over their faces. They knew, without a shadow of a doubt, just how loved they are and how much joy they bring to those around them. We hiked back up to their house as I was reminded so clearly that I really need to start working out. But I knew it was worth any hike. I got to witness their love and their joy. We wrapped things up with a little swinging and chatted for nearly an hour. I drove away with the sweetest thank you gifts and note and so much more love. I went home and snuggled my little family close and told them exactly how much I love them. Love inspires love.

So much love,

P.S. There are still a few October spots open! Click HERE to message me about your fall family session today. Remember, now is the time to do a session and have images back in time for the holidays!

Beach Sessions! Eeeek | Priscilla Baierlein Photography {Lifestyle Photographer}

That's right. The beach. One of my very favorite places. Most years we are lucky enough to travel down to the Tampa Bay area (Dunedin to be exact...just outside of Clearwater) for a nice little family vacation. Bret and I agree that as soon as we arrive, we feel like we're home. Does that sound strange? We feel so relaxed and so at peace instantly. Shooting on the beach, to me, is simply perfection. The light. The laid back feeling. Did I mention the light? Well, I'm absolutely thrilled to offer these sessions. I wish I could bring everything I love about the beach with me back to KY. There's just nothing else like it. I can't wait to feel the sand between my toes, have my hair go crazy in the wind, and listen to those waves.

Well, since we're on the subject, let's revisit some of my previously blogged beach pictures. I'm lucky enough to have a wonderfully talented friend that lives in FL. Many of you have probably seen the pictures she's done of my family. We always get together and shoot while we visit. This past year we missed out on the beach because of stormy weather (fingers crossed that doesn't happen this year), but in the years past we would visit the beach and she would photography Bret and I while I photographed her littles. Here are a few of my favorites that I've already blogged before. So ignore the border I have on my older pictures. :) I can't believe how much these babies have grown.

This was on busy Clearwater Beach. Let me know if you'll be in the area and would like a session!

Many thanks and SO much love,
