Priscilla Baierlein Photography bio picture

Hi there!

Welcome to my blog! My style can best be described as "perfectly imperfect"! Confusing? lol. Well, the way I see it is that life is perfect just the way it is...with all its imperfections. I love capturing life as is. Spur of the moment...and maybe a little all over the place. I've always loved all the little things that make up life: The peeling skin and wrinkles on newborn toes, the way a young couple looks at each other, the way fall leaves tumble to the ground in almost a tornado-like motion, the joy in a child's eyes the first time they see anything. What does this mean? It means that I am going to capture you, your child, your family, your love, your life just how it is in that moment in time. I'm going to capture all those little things that make up you and your family.

Besides being a photographer, I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, a lover and not a fighter, an idealist, a romantic, a child advocate, a peace keeper, and a goofball. I have the best friends and family ever. They have supported and gently pushed me along the path of who I am today. I love life; I love photography; and I love that you've come by to visit! Sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Priscilla Baierlein Photography l Ashleigh and John get married!

I had the awesome opportunity to photograph another dear friend’s wedding. Ashleigh and John are seriously one of the cutest couples I’ve ever seen. I love photographing them because, not only are they beautiful, but their love truly just shines all around them. I love seeing them interact. It’s as if there’s no one else but just the two of them. As a “spectator”, you can almost feel the passion.  I just know they’re one of those classic love stories, but without the dramatic conflict that always goes on in the movies. I can totally see them 50 years from now still holding hands and excited to see each other everyday. Thank you Ashleigh and John for letting me be a part of your big day.

Sammye and Syd getting a little emotional watching Cindy do Ash’s make-up.

A little detail. Ashleigh wore her Grandma’s necklace around her wrist. Isn’t it beautiful?

This is just after they first saw each other. This is with no prompting from me. I just snap away during the first meeting and never give any direction. Well, except to tell the groom to turn around :)

The GRASSHOPPER FIASCO- So, the below picture shows the little break we had to take from pictures. Seems a certain little grasshopper found a cozy home in Ash’s wedding dress. This may be the most hilarious thing I’ve witnessed on a wedding day. But it doesn’t stop here. Keep in mind we did all the posed pictures before the ceremony. That night, way into the reception, when Ashleigh was changing out of her dress, another little grasshopper jumped out of her dress! The little guy had been there throughout the entire ceremony and most of the reception! Hey, grasshoppers have to party too!

Yeah…they were lots of fun!

I know everyone looks so tiny in the next picture and you can’t really see their faces, but there’s something i just love.

Look how stylin they are! I have 3 favorite parts of this picture….the guy on the left (sorry….we all know I am terrible with names), the ring bearer, and the superstar lady on the right. Yeah…they rock.

One of my favorite things to photograph are full body laughs. You know, when you laugh so hard you just throw your whole body into it. Nothing shows someone’s personality more. Nothing makes me smile more when someone can let loose and just throw that laugh out there. Some people rarely do this and some people do this all the time.

Okay…it just wouldn’t be right if I talked about the reception and didn’t show pictures of the greatest dancers. I so love sitting back and watching people dance at wedding receptions. It always surprises me how well everyone can dance. Every once in a while, you’ll see me break loose a little hip action. Most of the time I am watching wishing someone could teach me how to dance like that! Well, at this particular wedding, it was the kiddos who really got me. The first little girl could really get down. She was dancing to “Low” by Flo Rida. You know “Shawty had them apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur. The whole club was lookin at her. She hit the flo. Next thing you know, shawty got low low low low low low low low.” Ha…you can thank me for having that in your head the rest of the day! Anywho…can you guess what part she was dancin to here? The next dancing picture is of the ring bearer. Sorry for the crappy picture. It really doesn’t do him justice. He was break-dancing here. I was so excited trying to capture it and it didn’t work out so well. It kinda just looks like he fell. lol. I promise he was getting down!

And last but not least…a shout out to my AOII girls. Ha…Natalie looks like she’s not sure about this whole chant thing. What you can’t see is her cute little belly that I get to photograph next month! Anywho…the picture after that is of all us girls. I’m the one who looks like she’s been run over and been sweating all day. I NEVER look good by the end of weddings. I don’t know how some photogs do it. Please…give me your secrets. Anywho…most of these girls I hadn’t seen in years. It’s funny how you don’t realize how much you miss someone until you’re around them. We always had so much fun together. I love and miss you girls!!!!

marathon blog.

Hello everyone! I’m back! So sorry it’s been forever since my last blog. Even with just one wedding, August was VERY busy. I spent the month playing catch-up and getting some fun marketing stuff together. I also updated my website, so make sure to check it out www.priscillabphotography.com

Before you start looking at all the fun pictures, I have to address two things. First, this is going to be somewhat of a marathon blog, so I apologize for the lack of much text. Secondly, somehow I messed up the size of my pictures I prepared today, so, all of those will be a lot smaller than the others. Sorry about that! Some of those pictures are my absolute favorites ever!

Okay…now, let’s get going with all the fun pictures. First is just a couple pictures from the last maternity session.

Next are some pictures from the Carver family. What a fun family! Sorry for the delay in getting the blog! This isn’t even a “sneak peek” anymore. They’ve had their gallery for almost 3 weeks! And have even placed their order :) Shew…I’m behind!

Here’s just a couple from our beautiful God Daughter Audrei. I can’t belive she’s over a year old! Time just flies!

Okay…rest of the pictures are so much smaller. I’m sorry. I will have it figured out by the next blog :( Hope you still enjoy! :)

The beautiful wedding I had in August. Laura and Mike are such a cute couple. The entire day was just so much fun! Hope you newlyweds are doing great!!!!

Here’s Laura getting ready.

A few detail shots…

Oh my goodness…this church is amazing!

My very first senior session! We had a blast. I knew I would love doing senior pictures, but never had the opportunity to do any. Thanks Jacqueline! I’m so excited about all of these!

Last, but not least, a session from today with our good friend Megan and her beautiful girl Lauren. She is absolutely gorgeous. I love all the red hair and those blue eyes. The first image is one of my favorites of all time. Don’t you just love that dress!?

Oh and this one melts my heart!

Thanks everyone!!! I have tons of sessions coming up rest of the year. Be keeping your eyes out for many newborns, many weddings, an engagement session, and several families! I can’t wait!

june.

What a crazy month June was! It absolutely flew by. Here the summer is almost half over and I haven’t even stepped foot into a pool. I’m just now getting a chance to sit down and do a blog! I know you missed me ;) Well, get comfy because this is a long one :)

I can’t resist posting just few more from the Booker wedding.

Miss Lila. Just around 5 lbs at the time of the shoot. She was just so tiny. I don’t think she loved me being there moving her around, but she loved my bean bag :)

LOVE this nursery!!!

Hendrix is such a good big brother!!! He even put her bassinet together!

The same day I photographed little Miss Lila in Louisville, Bret and I drove to Covington, KY for one of my very best friends wedding! Amy and I were roomies for most of my college days. We got our very first apartment together. We had so much fun that summer! That is also the same summer Bret and I started dating. Amy and our other roomie Kristen were actually the ones who gave Bret my phone number! Words can’t express how happy I am for Amy. She deserves this more than anyone I know. She’s one of the sweetest, funniest, and quirkiest ;) people I know. I was so proud to be one of the ladies chosen to stand beside her on her big day. Everything about that day was perfect and beautiful…well, except for our shoes ;) The reception was at this beautiful place overlooking Cincinnati’s skyline. It was amazing.

Me and my hubby. Oh…like me knew hair cut and highlights? :)

Next is me and one of my best friends/rock/hope healer/marketing manager/sorority sister. She never fails to tell me (and all her other friends) how much faith she has in me. When I am bummed, she reminds me to keep up my faith and hope and all will be okay. Oh and she calls me ladybug and that makes me happy :) I can’t wait to photograph her wedding in October! It will be fabulous!!!

Oh…and my birthday fell into all the madness of June. I am 28! I’ve always been a big fan of birthdays, but for some reason I wasn’t thrilled about it this year. Luckily, I have a wonderful husband and wonderful friends who made the day special :) First, my buddy Jessica bought me yummy cupcakes (see picture below…oh and it’s sitting in my bouquet from Amy’s wedding) and my boss took us all out to lunch! Still, I felt kind of blah about the day. Then I got home and Bret made me oh so happy. He made me sit in the bedroom while he got everything ready. He bought two candles of my favorite scent and had them lit on the dining room table, along with food from my favorite local restaurant (Burger House) on plates (instead of the boxes it comes in). He’s so funny because he does the sweetest things and then always gets very practical gifts. My gift was a desk chair :) I love it! I keep stealing his and now I have my very own. It feels so much better sitting here typing this then hunched over in the old chair. Oh and he paid for me to go to the UK football women’s clinic :) Guess he’s tired of me not knowing what he’s talking about!

Next is the beautiful Nichole and Mike! I can’t wait until their wedding…just a week from Saturday!

Next is the Montgomery family! Look how cute these kiddos are. And they are so happy! Isabella talks like she’s 10 years old. I could just listen to her all day. She’s SO funny! I felt so bad leaving when she said “we didn’t get to play just me and you”. Oh break my heart.

Isaac was not about taking a family picture. He just wanted to be in the wagon! lol. We ended up doing some family pictures with the kiddos in the wagon :)

Did I mention Kevin coaches football with my husband? Of course we had to play some football!

Finally, before I left, Isabella wanted a picture of just Mommy and Daddy. This next one is my favorite from that. Maybe because I know what they were laughing about :) Don’t worry…i won’t tell ;) I do just love how she’s leaning into him laughing and he’s holding her hand. I thought it was too sweet.

Are you tired yet? lol. Okay..next is the Costich family. This little sweetie is so cute. She was just happy the whole time…well until the end, but I’ll explain that in a second.

Tea party time!

Okay…so, here’s where the happiness ended. Caroline was twirling around and around showing me her dress. She was having so much fun. She fell a couple times and just jumped back up laughing. Well, you can kind of see what happens in this next group of pictures. See what she keeps getting closer to as she spins. The middle picture is just as she was falling. Of course the last picture is immediately after. I felt so bad for her. It swelled up and turned blue within a minute. Caroline…big kisses to your boo boo. I hope it’s all better now :(

Okay…the last two pictures. Some of our best friends Bryan and Kelly came to visit last weekend along with their beautiful twin daughters Emily and Olivia. We decided to do a 5 minute “mini-model shoot” (something I made up to make it sound semi cool to the girls). Well, Emily wasn’t having it. Olivia decided to play along and the next two images are my favorite. I think this girl may have a future modeling career. These images were inspired by the great St. Louis photographer Laura Siebert.

For those of you still waiting on your gallery, hold tight I will have them finished very soon :)

Thanks everyone for your support and sitting through this oh so long blog :) Now get up and walk around…I promise the numbness will leave your bottom soon :)

XOXO
