All in a Mini | Priscilla Baierlein Photography {Lexington, Ky Maternity Photographer}

Another mini that I loved. Another mini that makes it impossible to narrow down the images! Yikes! Did I say 10 images?

I love that this business has been built mostly on word of mouth. I love this because I love my clients…which means I will probably love their friends and family. That’s the case with the M family. I knew instantly that I would love them. That grew even more when I read about how much they love each other and who they are as a family and that Dad is the entertainer. So, you can imagine how happy I was when I met them. One of the biggest reasons I love what I do is that I get to watch families interact and be themselves. I loved watching Miss S priss and spin in her beautiful dress and beautify Daddy with her very own hat. I loved watching her love on Momma and talk about how she was going to be a good big sister. I loved watching her race Daddy and him showing that he is truly the entertainer in the family. I just loved it all. Every bit of it. All of this in a mini session…

Peace and much love,

Cilla

Stunning | Priscilla Baierlein Photography {Lexington, KY Family Photography}

Third times a charm. After having mini sessions rescheduled twice due to rain, we knew we had to get it this time. I have to admit, I was a little nervous when I saw the dark clouds creeping in on us. Luckily, we got by with just a few sprinkles, while the rest of Lexington was getting a good soaking. This was definitely worth the way. What a stunning family and one happy little boy. I have to say that one of my favorite things about him is his love of leaves. OH and his crawl! It was a bear crawl. I’m convinced he learned that from going to football practices with his Daddy.

Now…how STUNNING are they!?!

Peace and much love,

Cilla

Mr. Blue Eyes | Priscilla Baierlein Photography {Lexington, KY Baby Photographer}

I’m going to tell a little story on myself. Hanging out on my couch to do a little relaxing before my session that’s set to start at 6:30. At 5:40 I decide to look up directions to my session that’s in Lancaster. Look up the address and realize it’s not in Lancaster, but Lexington…an hour away…during a busy time of day. Oh me! Oh my! Jump up from my comfy place. Slip on my shoes. Grab my camera bag. And head out the door, praying I didn’t forget something. Of course, traffic is worse than usual. Get there about 20 minutes late…maybe 30..oh heck…let’s pretend just 5. While kicking myself in the butt and apologizing as much as I possibly could. What was I thinking!?! Thank goodness I have the sweetest clients ever.

Even when sessions start like that, as soon as the camera goes in front of my face, I am at ease. Having such a stressful start could easily cause the whole session to be thrown off. The C’s and I hit it off quickly (which made a HUGE difference) and the fact that I was late didn’t even matter. We got tons of adorable images. Of course, how could we not? Just look how happy and smitten they are with Mr Blue Eyes…

Thank you all for being oh so patient! I have to say that I think it was worth the wait :)

Peace and much love,

Cilla

New | Priscilla Baierlein Photography {KY Birth Photographer}

After Macy’s birth, I quickly realized that it was one of the most rewarding “sessions” I had ever done. Okay…maybe it’s because I had a new beautiful baby sister in the end, but I don’t think that was the only thing that made me feel that way. There was just something almost…magical…about being present during something so miraculous. Being the one to capture every moment. Erica often tells me how precious it all was to her. She talks about how everything was a blur and she was so out of it that she doesn’t remember everything. She says that she and Myca sit and watch the slideshow with tears. Myca has to walk away because she just can’t take it (yes…she is as emotional as we are, but she truly gets it and knows that they are tears of joy. she’s our old soul.).

It’s an added bonus that  I also love the emotion and drama you can see in hospital pictures. I love using the available light. The graininess in the photos. The truly unposed pictures. Capturing each and every emotion.

You would think, with all of that, the decision to make this big change would be easy, but in true “cilla” fashion, it wasn’t. I’m pretty sure I was trying to talk myself out of it. What if this happens…what if that happens….I can’t get this collection just right…what if no one wants to do it…what if…what if…what if. Then finally I gave up the “what if” and realized this was what my heart wanted to do and there was just no stopping it. So, as I made the announcement a few years ago that I would be doing weddings, I am now making the announcement that I will now be offering Birth Photography and a Day in the Life sessions (side note…I have been meaning to offer this since I first started…even did a sample one…but decided to wait), but will no longer be doing weddings after this year (okay…okay…I have one next year and possibly another…but that’s it! lol). My biggest fear is that I would be in the middle of a wedding and find out that a client was going into labor. Can you imagine? If I do a wedding, I can only take births that are far apart from the wedding date. Or I would be a total stress ball.

You can view a birth slideshow below. If you are viewing this through email and cannot see the video below, you can go to www.priscillabphotography.com/blog/ to see it.

Thank you so much for all your support always!

Peace and so much love,

Cilla

Miss July | Priscilla Baierlein Photography {Lexington, KY Newborn Photographer}

Oh what a beautiful family this is. One of the most beautiful families I’ve ever photographed. That fact with the beautifully decorated home (especially little Miss E’s room…and the pink scrapbooking room…yes, I said pink scrapbooking room! I was in love.) and the fact that they were as sweet as can be, made this session…well…perfect. Momma has such a great sense of style, which provided me lots of adorable accessories to photograph E in. I’m not sure if I’ve said the word “beautiful” enough. Honestly, not sure I could say it enough. You’ll see…

This is what I walked up the stairs to see. I didn’t make it all the way up before I sat one camera down and started shooting this with the other. S and I had the same idea. Before she even got the full sentence out, I was shooting. So much love in this home.

E’s best friend stopped by for a little photo op. I have a feeling they will have many more of these as the years go by.

Peace and much much love,

Cilla
