Oh my very patient mini session clients. Thanks to all our crazy weather, all (except for May and June) the mini sessions had to be rescheduled. Now, I’m not one to complain about weather, but every month!?! Really!?! But…all was well. We rescheduled and the new dates were perfect. Here are some of my favorites from the April minis. I’m so sad to say good bye to one of my favorite families, but not before I got to do their newborn images, which will be shared soon…soon!

2010 Slideshow and a BIG Surprise

I’m back! Like really back. Not just hopping in to tease you. I know…you’ve been so worried. Right?

So, what’s been going on in 2011? After some much needed time off for the holidays, I’m currently working on some left over 2010 orders, a wedding from 2010, and then all of my exciting new things for 2011. I can’t wait to share all the locations for the mini sessions this year! Soon…very soon.

I promise there will lots of fun things to share and write soon, but first I have to share something I’m EXTREMELY excited about. Drum roll please….

I’ve gone through and picked my favorites of my favorite images (please note that not ALL of my sessions are represented. Not even all of my favorites! Trust me…that was hard.) throughout the year and put a fun little slideshow together. Oh, but this is no ordinary slideshow. This slideshow is very very very special. VERY. Hidden in this slideshow, at the very end, is a big SURPRISE. A HUGE SURPRISE. Like if you miss out on this, you will be the lady in the store that snubbed Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman and I’ll be saying you made a big mistake…BIG…HUGE. Yes…I know it’s a stretch, but I just keep hearing Julia Roberts in my head saying “Big. Huge”.

Love..Laughs…and Passion | Priscilla Baierlein Photography {KY Engagement Photographer}

I really don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard at a session as I did this one. I remember my days in high school hanging out with Miss Sabra and our endless hours of goofiness. Pure goofiness. I think I had forgotten some of that laughter and some of that goofiness. I forgot how outrageously funny she is. Did I mention outrageously funny? I mean, singing funny country songs, dancing, saying exactly what comes to mind, and doing anything to make Mike laugh…or say “Sabra!” in his oh-my-gosh…I-can’t-believe-you- did- that tone (that was only called out a couple times…and I pretended not to see what she did to cause such a reaction. giggle). I can’t even begin to imagine how much fun these two have on a regular basis. They packed a whole lotta laughs into a 2 hour span. And a lot of love and passion. Yep…I think these two are going to have a fun, exciting, and passionate life together. Makes me SO happy for my very old friends.

This is going to be a really quick post because I know she’s dying to see her sneak peek! This is my beautiful, drop-dead-gorgeous, sister and oh so sweet and handsome fiance. I want to go into great length about how I remember when she was born, how I know I’m going to be an emotional wreck on her wedding day, how she and B are perfect for each other, how I love being around them (even when they fight over directions…lol), how no one understands me in that certain way quite like she does, etc. etc. But…I’m not going there right now. I will cry. I will ramble. I will want the post to never end. This is a quick sneak peek and I promised myself I would be finished blogging by 10:30 and it’s 10:50. So, expect the sappy, oh so sappy, blog post when we do their NEXT engagement session (picture jeans, camp fire, and their doggy Mac).

Keish…I’ve said it a million times…I love you and you’ll never know how much our friendship means to me.

monthly minis | Priscilla Baierlein Photography {Central KY Child & Family Photographer}

I’ve been meaning to blog this forever! With the first Monthly Mini Session date fastly approaching (March 20th!), now may be a good time to do that! There are only 2 spots remaining for the March minis!

That’s right! Our very popular mini sessions that are normally offered twice a year, are now being offered once a month! Now you’ll have the option of a Signature Session or a Monthly Mini Session. These Mini Sessions will be held in various locations in Central KY (one set location per session) on set dates.

The very first date being March 20th and the popular Boyd’s Orchard minis on April 24th.
Of course, Signature Sessions will remain the ultimate custom photography experience. It’s hard to believe, but spring sessions are already booking up! If you have a date in mind for a session, it is a good idea to book as soon as possible to insure your spot is held, both for Signature Sessions and Mini Sessions.

Grab a snack and sit back…this is a long one! There may be a little gift at the end. As I’m finally getting use to writing 2010 on my checks, I think back to 2009 and reflect on the good, the bad, and the plain ol ugly. It was my first full year as a full time professional photographer. It seems like things have moved so fast. Sometimes I feel like I’ve made every mistake one could possibly make in one year. But with every mistake, I’ve kicked and screamed and thrown my hands up in the air I’ve learned. I’ve grown. It doesn’t hurt that I have the most amazingly patient clients ever. They have allowed me to figure this crazy thing out (not that I have…or if that’s even possible). There were days that I felt lost and days that I felt I had it all together. In the end, I know my clients better, I know my business better, and I know myself better. Realizing along the way that the best way to do anything is stay true to yourself. I know…it sounds so cheesy, but it’s true. No matter what, I want to share. Share who I am. Share my love for photography. Share in your special moments. Share in your little moments. Share what I see. Share all those things that make your family unique. This is something that has not changed from the beginning and will not change. My main goal will always be to capture a moment. One of the things I missed out on this past year was the sharing of me to you. I got so busy and so wrapped up in our life and the business that I didn’t connect as much as I would like. So, here I am. I know…you’re so excited right? Woot woot!

Now for a few of my favorite MOMENTS that I have been wanting to share.

First…The Pings…This family is one of my favorites. I love their style, each of their personalities, and that I’ve been with them since Abby was 1. I love watching them grow. I love that Scott gets so excited that he will email me or facebook me a million times asking, but he immediately makes up for it when he posts their slideshow a million times. And I mostly love that little miss Abby drew me a pretty picture before our last session. FYI…I still have it up (I keep everything “my” kiddos give me).

Second…I know I’ve already talked all about this, but I can’t talk about most memorable moments without at least showing this one more time…

Third…this is from OCTOBER! I was suppose to share it way back then, but of course time got away from me. I was beyond thrilled when Skirt contacted little ol me to be featured in their “Secrets” issue. My “secret” was taking the perfect picture of your child. I actually had MY picture taken by the fabulous Carla Winn (before they moved to Seattle ). FYI…I am much more suited for being BEHIND the camera. Another quick little factoid about me…I LOVE jean jackets. I own 3. Yeah…it’s sad.

An Engagement Story | Priscilla Baierlein Photography {Danville, KY Photographer}

Ladies…when you hear this story, remember, he’s taken, but I’m sure there are still a few good ones out there. John Henry called me a while back and I was so excited I almost cried. He wanted to include me on a very special surprise to his long time girlfriend Katosha. I just wanted to scream “yes…I’ll do it!” as soon as he started talking! He began by telling me that Katosha has always wanted me to photograph their one day wedding and how he was planning on proposing…he even had the exact date he wanted to propose…and he wanted me there to photograph the whole thing! We immediately started planning one huge, well, lie to feed Katosha in hopes she would believe us! I contacted her and said there was this location in Danville that I had always wanted to do a session, but I could never talk anyone into and I would really love it if they would model for me (well, all of that was true). Okay…I made it sound better than that And as a gift for modeling for me, she could pick a location for the second half of the shoot. I wanted the proposal to happen in a place that was more them then the junkyard I wanted to go to Then we waited. Was she going to buy this? Did I make it sound believeable? I was so nervous! Well, she bought it! We then planned a beautiful session on July 3rd…oh and we said that was the only date I had open for a very long time and we had to do it then!

The proposal was beautiful. We had the exact pose picked out. I would have Katosha in front so she couldn’t see John Henry get on one knee. Then I would smoothly have Katosha turn around. It took a little bit for her to notice he was on one knee. She looked at him…thought he was posing….looked at me….then he said “Katosha”. She looked back at him and said “what are you doing?” She couldn’t believe it. It was amazing. I was so nervous I wasn’t going to do this moment justice with my tears getting in the way. He had counted exactly how many days they had been dating and she had been waiting. It was so romantic. I think the most romantic part is that he listened and knew she would love to have these pictures to last forever and remember every moment of it. They are such a beautiful and happy couple. I know this is one that will also last forever…

Hello blog readers…I have missed you so! You have been very neglected! Smith family…I believe I captured my favorite sibling pictures ever at this session! These girls were silly…happy…and oh so much fun!

Angie and Andy’s wedding. I swear…I have had the best weddings this summer. I haven’t even been getting so nervous I am sick before! Angie and Andy are such a sweet couple. I honestly had a blast at their reception! They even asked for a picture with me!!!

Oh my blog…I’ve missed you so. I cannot believe it’s been so long since my last blog entry! Things have been a little crazy, which is definitely a good thing. June was filled with lots and lots of wonderful sessions, lots and lots of editing, some changes to the business, and the *perfect* vacation. Oh and my last 20′s birthday was thrown in there somewhere.

So, to “catch up” I’m doing one big blog entry with images from all of my sessions that are finished. Hopefully this can get me somewhat back on track with blogging. Be watching for an entry about all of the changes I’ve been making to the business. There were so many things I had been wanting to do to get the business *perfect*. I’ve decided to go ahead and do those things, including new products, new focus in the collections, new packaging, slideshows, and even a new schedule. Hopefully with the new schedule, things won’t be quite as hectic. There are a few things I’m still working on and a few things I’ve already been doing this summer. I’ll also be announcing my holiday schedule soon. Yes…that’s right HOLIDAY schedule! I’m already booking for the holidays and it’s booking up fast! I just can’t believe it.

Horses, goats, dogs, cats, bees…oh my! | Priscilla Baierlein Photography {Lancaster KY Enagement Photographer}

Wow! I can’t believe I’m just now getting a chance to blog this session. The very first time I saw pictures of Emily and Trey, I knew I had to photograph them at some point. When Emily sent me a message about their wedding and I found out her parents had a farm, I jumped on the opportunity to have them be my models They are absolutely one of the most gorgeous couples ever…and fun…and Trey brought me wine…so that doesn’t hurt anything We had a great time exploring her parents farm. We climbed inside the loft of the barn, we battled flies, ran from horses and goats and bees, and dodged…well, what normal animals leave…and it was all well worth it. It’s exactly what I wanted. At first we thought the horses wouldn’t want anything to do with us and then they wouldn’t leave us alone lol. But I loved it

I have to share “their story”. I have forms for all of my clients to fill out that asks for them to tell me about themselves. I always love reading these answers. You don’t know how many times I’ve literally been brought to tears reading how much a Mother loves her children, or how a couple met. I know Emily didn’t think it was a great answer, but I thought it was perfect. She said that they can’t for the life of them remember where they met, but they know that they have been together ever since. Perfect.

I’ll start with my absolute favorite image. We waited to start close to when the sun was setting. I just love the light from sunset. It really made everything exactly how I had imagined it! And don’t you love that yellow dress!?! Emily was a trooper walking around all over the farm for me in her heels.

Thanks to Trey for not allowing us to fall out of the top of the barn. Now THAT would’ve been a story.
