Have you ever woken up one day and realized that , oh 6 months, had passed and you don’t know what happened…where it has gone? It’s so typical to hear how time goes by so fast. How children grow up before you know it. I always feel like a broken record when I harp about how they grow up too fast and how it’s so important to be sure and capture all those little moments. Before you know it, you may forget how their hair curled in just that certain way or how they always put their hand over their face when they slept.
Now, here I am. In the other spot. Being the one letting time slip by me. I want to remember every single aspect about this. I have big plans on a baby book with some belly pictures and tons of notes about my pregnancy, but it’s going by too fast. I’m almost 6 months pregnant and only have iPhone pictures of my belly. Now, something I have been doing is enjoying the little aspects of this pregnancy. Here’s what I’ve been doing lately…

*First I have to share that I had the absolute honor of doing a guest blog post over at The Creative Mama about our IVF journey. It’s the first place that I’ve written a long summary of the entire story. Co-editor, Stacey Woods, is a very dear friend of mine whom I absolutely adore to pieces. When she became co-editor, she remembered that I had a wish on my Life List to be a guest blogger on this fabulous blog for all creative mamas. I was completely thrilled (I mean…jump up and down thrilled) when she asked if I would like to tell our story to their readers. Seriously…did she even have to ask?

* Watching my belly…a lot. What started about 5 weeks ago as little flutters in my tummy, has turned into full blown kicks and punches that both Bret and I can feel and see. Every single day it feels like something new is going on. I’m constantly amazed and getting to know our little man before he’s even been born. I know he already likes to dance and is very active. He gets a good boost of energy after dinner and that’s the best time to catch him moving. But, if something’s out of the ordinary, he’s a lot more still than usual. For instance, we had friends over tonight and I didn’t do my usual eat and then lay on couch watching TV and working. He barely moved. I wonder if he’s as curious as his Dad. He also likes to hang out at the bottom of my belly and on my left hand side…which is the side I sleep on most of the time. If he’s kicking a lot and I put my hand on my stomach, he stops. I’m not sure if it’s because he’s stubborn or because it calms him. He also got to experience me dancing for the first time this past weekend. Once by myself and once with his Daddy. Nothing makes me happier then being swept out of my office chair to dance.

*Working…yes I promise I have been working and plan on doing so until the beginning of July. I’m pretty sure this is going to be hilarious seeing me, with my big belly, chasing after little ones…squatting…not being able to get up from squatting… More on my schedule in an upcoming post. So many cute kiddos to show!!! Let’s just say that spring is in full swing!

*Eating lots and lots of tomatoes and cucumbers. I’m obsessed. Seriously. Obsessed.

* Enjoying the colors of spring. Oh how I love spring. If it weren’t for all the severe weather it would give fall a good run for it’s money to be my favorite season. We try to wait until April to mow the grass (no judging) and I always want to take a million pictures in our back yard because the grass is so green and had started getting a little tall (sshh…don’t tell). So, instead of adding people to it, I just took pictures of the grass. Oh and let’s not forget my favorite tree. It’s awesome. I’m sad the blooms are gone already.

*Enjoying time withBret before we are running around like crazy people because I hear having a baby completely changes your life. I mean…that’s what they say 😉 Our Sundays and our weekday evenings have been spent talking, hanging out, talking to our baby boy, singing to our baby boy, and we even managed to cook a meal or two together (which we tend to be lazy about). Oh my…this was the best meal and I want every single bit of it right now. Grilled chicken, fancy mushrooms, bruschetta penne pasta, salad (with lots of cucumbers and tomatoes), and corn that had been frozen from last summer. Oh me…oh my. YUMMO! Have I mentioned that grilling is one of my favorite things about spring and summer? Is it just me or is there just something about seeing your hubby behind the grill?

*Speaking of my hubby, I’ve loved watching him with our boy already. It melts my heart every time I hear him say his name and talk to him or see his eyes go wide when he feels him kick or sees my belly jump. Last night we were laying there and he says “Okay…I’m going to sing to you baby boy.” I thought this had to be a moment that would make me cry. I was waiting for it. Then he started rapping…yes…you read that correctly…rapping. Not a sweet little rap you may hear on a children’s show, but a hard core Public Enemy rap.

*Last, but certainly not least, don’t forget that I am blogging on a semi-regular basis over at Our Cups Runneth Over . I have to admit, the other ladies blog a bit more then I do. That means I haven’t been completely cheating on you. They are all fantastic writers and have much more fun things to blog about then I do. You should totally hop over and see the latest post about one of my favorite little guys birthday party! It was definitely the coolest birthday party I had ever been to and Bret played the the villan and was quite amazing at it. I believe he was an actor in another life.

For all those who have stuck with me through my lack of blogging, thank you and I love you dearly!

Peace and SO MUCH LOVE,

Cilla

Time does go way too fast! Your baby is going to be here before you know it! Beautiful pictures too!
Ps I also love to eat cucumbers! With salt & pepper! Yum!
